The Tucson Senior Olympic Festival is happening right now, and the entire community is invited to come out and watch.
Events are taking place all across Tucson through February 1. Athletes ages 50 and better are competing in a wide range of sports, showing off skill, focus, and serious determination. Spectators are welcome at every competition. There are no tickets required. Watching is completely free.

Competitions are happening nearly every day. You can catch fast-paced pickleball matches, exciting track and field events, swimming races, golf tournaments, bowling, tennis, bocce, and more. Events are hosted at parks, pools, golf courses, bowling centers, and recreation facilities throughout the city.
This isn’t a one-location festival. There’s no single venue to go to. Instead, the Festival pops up all over town. Different sports happen on different days in different places. That makes it easy to fit into your schedule. Stop by for a few minutes or stay for an entire event. Come back another day and watch something new.
Even if you’ve never followed these sports, it’s fun to watch. The athletes take it seriously, but the atmosphere stays welcoming and upbeat. You’ll see competitors cheering each other on, friends and family supporting from the sidelines, and plenty of moments that remind you why staying active matters at any age.

There’s no pressure and no commitment. You don’t need passes, wristbands, or prior knowledge. Just show up, find a seat or a shady spot, and enjoy the action. It’s a great way to spend an afternoon, get outside, and support local athletes.
If you’re looking for something free, active, and genuinely inspiring to check out this week, head to a Tucson Senior Olympic Festival event and cheer them on.
