LightsUp at the Tucson Botanical Gardens is a full holiday walk-through experience filled with more than a million LED lights, custom-built displays, glittering luminarias, and glowing installations that transform the gardens into a festive nighttime escape.
The event runs November 28 through January 11. It’s open Tuesday through Sunday from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM, and the gardens sit at 2150 North Alvernon Way.
Expect a one-mile stroll through themed zones that include illuminated tunnels, giant tin stars, silver tree displays, and a crescent moon photo spot. Most guests take about 45 to 60 minutes to enjoy the walk at an easy pace. There are treats along the way, including hot cocoa, cookies, and snacks from Edna’s Eatery by Charly’s Grill. On select nights a Peddler on the Path offers additional hot beverages for the walk.
New additions this year include oversized holiday wreaths at the entrance, a Butterfly Tree in the Pavilion, refreshed decorations on the garden’s model railroad layout, and luminaria-lined paths through Frida’s Garden. Tickets are sold in timed arrival windows, and pricing varies by day and time. Arrive close to your selected slot, and once you enter you can stay as long as you like until closing.
